2016 has been quite a year for Lola’s Cocina. As my three-year blog anniversary approaches I’d like to share some exciting news. First and foremost, I’ve finally launched my line of specialty food products and online store! That’s right, Lola’s Mercadito is just a mouse click away.

Lola’s Mercadito or “little shop” includes a collection of artisan jams and salsas as well as some of my favorite items for the home and cocina, all made in or inspired by Mexico. Here you can find the perfect hostess gift or something for your food-loving friends.
What I’m most excited about is that my online store presents another opportunity to give back to organizations that are near and dear to my heart. A portion of proceeds from cooking classes, workshops, and product sales helps support children and families dealing with cancer as well as women in education, leadership, and business in the U.S. and in Oaxaca, Mexico. Read more about these organizations here.
In other news, this year I’ve also managed to grow my social media following from a few hundred people on Facebook and Instagram to over 7,000, combined. That may seem like small potatoes for some people, but it’s quite an accomplishment for me. I’ve even been selected to create content and recipes for brands that I love. My work as a mother and Latina leader has been highlighted in interviews and publications with Super Mamás Podcast, Casa Artelexia, Bilingual Avenue, Parents Latina, Dieste, and Red Tricycle.
To celebrate all of these exciting milestones, I’ll be hosting a week of giveaways with Mexico in My Pocket, so be sure to follow along on Instagram (@lolascocina and @mexicoinmypocket). There will be daily contests all leading up to my blog’s anniversary on Day of the Dead. Stay tuned!
