Hibiscus Iced Tea | Agua Fresca de Jamaica

Ingredients:
1½ cups dry hibiscus flower
1 cup sugar (or to taste)
10 cups water divided

Preparation:

  1. Boil 4 cups water with hibiscus flowers and sugar on a medium-high flame for 20 minutes or until sugar is completely dissolved. The water should reduce slightly and become thicker in consistency.
  2. Strain the concentrate into a large pitcher. Reserve hydrated flowers for a later use.
  3. Stir in remaining 6 cups of water.
  4. Chill and serve over plenty of ice. Garnish with fresh lime slice.

You can find it at Lowe’s Super Mercado in Denver off of Federal Blvd. They sell it in prepackaged bags near the chiles and spices and in bulk near the produce.
